CBU is not a withdrawable savings account. It is a savings account with life insurance benefits. Once your CBU savings reaches ₱15,000.00, you are entitled to life insurance coverage. CBU is also one of the requirements when applying for a loan. To qualify for a loan, a member must have at least ₱3,750.00 in their CBU account. In addition, CBU earns dividends after every General Assembly. The amount of dividend a member receives depends on the cooperative’s annual savings and overall performance for the year.

Attending the Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES) is important because it helps prospective members fully understand the cooperative before becoming part of it. Through the seminar, members learn about the cooperative’s history, mission, vision, services, policies, and responsibilities. It also explains the rights and benefits of being a member, including savings, loans, and other financial programs offered by the cooperative. PMES is important because it prepares members to become responsible, active, and informed participants of the cooperative. By attending the seminar, members gain knowledge on how the cooperative operates and how they can contribute to its growth and success. It also strengthens unity, cooperation, and trust among members, which are essential in building a strong and progressive cooperative community.

PMES stands for Pre-Membership Education Seminar. It is an orientation seminar conducted for individuals who want to become members of a cooperative such as OCPMPC. The PMES is conducted to help prospective members understand: 1. The history, mission, and vision of the cooperative 2. Membership qualifications and requirements 3. Rights, responsibilities, and benefits of members 4. Cooperative products and services 5. Policies, rules, and regulations of the cooperative 6. Savings, loans, and other financial programs 7. The importance of active participation in cooperative activities The PMES will be conducted every Thursday, once a week. This schedule allows applicants and interested individuals to regularly attend the seminar and complete one of the important requirements for cooperative membership.
